Fall in Paris: Six Events Not to Miss!

Fall in Paris is the perfect time and perfect place to be! Why not experience the true Parisian life in one of our home apartments?  People are rested from a month-long summer vacation, weather conditions are ideal, and urban life is bustling with activities for all ages.

There will be no shortage of exciting activities in Paris in the next couple of months. Here are some of the highlights:

Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe : The legendary horse racing event will take place on September 30 and October 1st, 2017. This is one of the biggest horse racing events in France each year and Parisians have been flocking to watch the Chantilly track for almost 100 years.

Nuit Blanche (White Night) : Plan to stay up late on the night of Saturday, October 5th for the annual Nuit Blanche, or White Night, in Paris! This popular event celebrates art and culture, which means tons of museums, galleries and other popular spots across the city will be open most of the night.

Montmartre Wine Harvest : October 11-14, 2017. For a truly Fall in Paris experience, head for the hills of Montmartre for the Vendanges (wine harvest). Although the small vineyards on the hills around the white church of Sacré-Coeur only produce a small quantity of wine, the festival is a fun way to experience the harvest atmosphere. Festivities include wine tasting, local food specialties, music, street performances and a fireworks display.

Music Lovers: Whether you’re into opera, jazz, or techno music, there is a venue for you this Fall in Paris!

Opera in the Park (Opéra en plein air): The 16th edition of this musical event will take place on September 7, 8 and 9, 2017. This year, Opera in the Park will feature The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart on the esplanade outside the Hotel des Invalides near the Eiffel Tower (coincidentally, we have a couple of rental homes near by). Admission prices range from 42 to 95€.

Jazz à la Villette : From August 31 to September 13. The Jazz à la Villette concert series celebrates the best in contemporary and experimental jazz.  Jazz and music lovers will enjoy the concerts held at the modern Grand Halle de la Villette and at Cité de la Musique.

Techno Parade : On September 23rd. A tribute to the origins of techno music in the US, the Techno Parade has been around since 1998 and traverses Paris along a 3 mile long route! Dance your way through the street to celebrate Fall in Paris!
